The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) took place in Brussels from June 11-13, 2024, in a hybrid format. EEIP was privileged to secure a spot at this event to showcase some projects and latest innovations. With a booth called “Closing the circularity loop between cities and industries”, EEIP aims to underscore the critical importance of closing the Industrial-Urban loop in achieving a sustainable future, enhancing circularity at the value chain level to meet the ambitious 2030 energy and climate targets.
EEIP’s booth, located at Martin’s Hotel, offered an unparalleled welcome despite being less crowded than the main venue at the Charlemagne building. Over the course of the three-day event, we presented several key projects, including CircularPSP, Redol, Coralis, IS2H4C, EENOVA, and DEESME 2050. We approached these projects through interactive activities in which participants had the opportunity to get some of the goodies. Highlights included:
- The EENOVA project’s online quiz (EnerWhizz), focusing on energy savings in food value chains.
- DEESME2050‘s case study demonstration on financing energy efficiency improvements in the furniture sector.
- A mini-workshop on Industrial Symbiosis management tools from the CORALIS project.
- A video presentation of Zaragoza’s zero-waste journey (REDOL project).
- Interactive role-playing sessions based on CircularPSP “personas”.
- A serious business simulation game designed to educate and engage participants on Industrial-Urban Symbiosis (IS2H4C project).
The star of our booth was EnerWhizz, an online quiz developed by EEIP, which engaged over 100 participants, providing valuable feedback and boosting the quiz’s visibility. This positive reception has bolstered our confidence in EnerWhizz’s potential to attract a broader audience.
As we concluded another successful year at EUSEW, we departed with immense satisfaction and enthusiasm, looking forward to returning next year with renewed vigor and innovative contributions to the sustainable energy sector.
