EEIP Hosts CORALIS Final Event and Leads Project Dissemination in Brussels

A Final Conference Bringing CORALIS to a Close

On 19 March 2025, EEIP hosted and organised the CORALIS Final Event in Brussels, marking the formal conclusion of the EU-funded CORALIS project. The final conference brought together project partners, European institutions, industry representatives, and stakeholders engaged in industrial symbiosis and circular economy initiatives. As part of the communication and dissemination work package, EEIP was responsible for the overall organisation of the event, the structure of the agenda, and the coordination of speakers and sessions. The event followed the final General Assembly held at EEIP offices the previous day, ensuring a smooth transition from internal project closure to external dissemination of results.

Showcasing Technical and Non-Technical Results

The programme was structured to reflect the full scope of CORALIS outcomes. Partners presented the technological solutions and lessons learned from the project’s industrial symbiosis hubs in Escombreras, Brescia, and Frövi, alongside insights from follower regions. These sessions highlighted how new value chain relations can be created through concrete, place-based industrial symbiosis approaches.

Beyond technology, the event addressed the non-technical conditions required to make industrial symbiosis work in practice. Dedicated sessions covered business and contractual models, financing tools, and regulatory aspects, followed by interactive discussions with participants. This structure underlined CORALIS’ integrated approach, combining technical innovation with economic, managerial, and policy considerations.

Dissemination, Exploitation and Looking Ahead

The final part of the event focused on the future exploitation of CORALIS results. A moderated roundtable brought together representatives from the European Commission, related EU projects, industry, and networks such as ASPIRE to discuss next steps, investment perspectives, and how CORALIS outcomes can be scaled up and replicated.

By hosting the final event and leading dissemination activities throughout the project, EEIP ensured that CORALIS results were presented clearly to a broad audience and anchored in the wider European policy and industrial context. The final conference confirmed CORALIS’ contribution to advancing industrial symbiosis in Europe and set the basis for continued uptake of its results beyond the project’s lifetime.
